Broker
I spent my first 24 years of life in Charlotte, North Carolina. I
joined ESSO, now Exxon/Mobile in Charlotte in March 1964 and went on to
proudly spend 36 years with Exxon and Gilbarco Inc. (Owned by Exxon
until the Late 80's). In 2001, I had the opportunity to retire from
Gilbarco March 1, 2001. But my retirement was short lived as I was then
hired by Gilbarco's largest worldwide distributor, Southern Pump and
Tank, in Charlotte, as their VP of Operations and Sales. For the next
four years, I worked with Southern Pump, commuting to Charlotte daily
from my "retirement" mountain home in Fleetwood Falls.
In Early 2004, I decided it was now time to start a new career in
Real Estate. The daily drive to Charlotte was getting to be too much
for this old man. And while entrenched in corporate America, I had
reason to move 15 times, so I became quite experienced in buying and
selling property. In July 2004, I received my North Carolina real
estate license and here I am today at High Country Realty of North
Carolina.
Cindy (my beautiful wife of 44 years on June 25) and I made
our first visit to Ashe County in August of 1998. We knew from that
very first day that Ashe County was going to be "home" in the near
future. In Sept 1998, I contracted with Fleetwood Falls to build our
special mountain home and we moved into this special new home on May
30, 1999. For the next several years we used the home as a weekend
get-a-way, then moving here full time in January 2002. We have two
wonderful sons, one beautiful daughter, and four exceptional
grandchildren.
I presently serve as Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee of Ashe Board of Realtors.
I am proud to be a Broker/Realtor in Ashe County, proud to be
affiliated with High Country Realty of North Carolina and I feel very
lucky to work with many of the top Real Estate professionals in our
area.
